We support many products that we have manufactured over the years, these are both industrial and military. An example of this is the MIL-STD-1553 Bus controller that we manufactured that controls the INS and Search Radar on the Australian Customs border watch aircraft. These were built more than 15 years ago and we continue to support them to this day.

Doppler Velocity Log

We manufacture the Model 3045 and we support the Model 3040 and 3060 Doppler Velocity logs (originally manufactured by EDO Corporation), in Australia and around the world. The Doppler velocity Log uses a phased array transducer and measures ship’s speed very accurately.

Power Distribution

We manufacture solid state power control distribution systems using the SSPC technology from one of our partners (DDC). The systems can supply 28VDC, 270VDC and 115VAC power control for aircraft and land vehicle platforms.

Tanker Filling Stations

We are supplying the embedded computing control and the interfaces needed for tanker filling stations that are located throughout country Australia. These systems allow users to buy water in remote locations using credit cards or account cards. They are inherently rugged and many operate from solar in temperatures that can exceed 50 degrees C.

Battery Management Systems for Lithium Batteries

Our facility allows us to build prototypes and small production runs of surface mount PCB assemblies using infrared and other technologies, we are able to test using our environmental chamber both temperature and humidity and we are able to test both shock and vibration for small articles.

Gun Trainer and Gun Simulator

We continue to manufacture Gun Trainers and Gun Simulators for one of the very large overseas defence prime contractors. We also manufacture a MIL-STD-1553 data logger that is used with the guns and we supply a ruggedised, modified laptop computer that also goes with the guns.

Access Control

We manufacture a range of products that are used to control lockers and parking bollards (including the manufacture of the bollard) for users of temp office space (Hot Desks and meeting rooms). Our bollards are used where multiple users need to book the space and have it available when they arrive.

Beam Former PCB's for Phased Array Transducer

We re-designed the Beam Forming PCB's for a underwater phased array transducer. The transformer design provided power factor correction and increased the power into the water by 1dB while increasing the efficiency as the load impedance increased by 30% with the load tuned to the characteristic frequency of the array, the receive circuit increased the received signal strength by 13 dB that provided a significant improvement to the signal to noise ratio as well as the received signal. The input transformers provided the ability to tune to the frequencies of interest providing for the increased performance of the signal quality and the signal strength.

About Our Processes

Our processes by default the 4 steps from the initial requirements through to the manufacturing. Not every customer wants the complete set of steps. In some cases the specification may have already been developed, and in some case the Verification Matrix may also already exist. Where this is the case then we are able to use these customer supplied documents. However if they don't exist, then we work with the customer to develop them.

Configuration control is always applied to all parts of the project. We use GIT for software and Subversion for Schematic and PCB Design. We have a production server where all parts that are manufacture have the production ready files and the production documents. Configuration control on all of these items means that a new revision is created for any changes.

Changes are done using an Engineering Change Note (ECN). All ECN's are under configuration Control.

To include our customer into the project we use "Slack" so that they may contribute and monitor the progress.

Specification

We start with the specification, without this any project is lost. Where needed, we develop the specification with our customer.

With every project specification there comes a verification matrix that includes the methodology to provide the verification of the requirements.

Quotation

For every project we provide the quotation which may be structured specific to the customer requirements and includes all the elements required by the customer. It may be a fixed price or a variable price depending upon the project.

Configuration Control

All projects including software and hardware and mechanical design have configuration control.

This allows the product to be manufactured the same way every time.

Configuration control is also applied to the documents and test procedures.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing is performed using "Travelers" that travel with the product through the various manufacturing steps. The Travelers are also allow us to incorporated Traceability. Manufacturing documents are created that show the required manufacturing steps to ensure that each product is manufactured to be compliant to the requirements.

How are we different ?

We work with you to generate a specification and a compliance document to verify the design. Configuration Control is applied to all projects from the initial design phase through to the final product.

How is the development costed ?

Every project is different, some are time and materials, some are fixed price and others we do the development knowing that if successful we will be getting production orders.

Do we always use our partners products in the development ?

Often we are contracted because the customer wants a specific SOM (System on a Module) or other part from one of our partners, but not always. If there is a better or alternate preference, then we always listen to our customers preferences and when requested use the preferred part.
